It’s difficult to imagine Drogon being keen to escort the man who murdered his mother anywhere, but Jon is, after all, a Targaryen and has shown that he knows how to fly them. Still, she’s lurking around in King’s Landing for a reason, and something’s got to happen to the Seven Kingdoms’ last dragon.
It still feels slightly far-fetched: Arya’s a ruthless killer but she’s not one for murdering beasts that have been following human command. Alternatively – and poetically – Arya could ape the Night King in throwing a javelin at Drogon. As Qyburn told a distraught Cersei last week: there are no scorpions left. The question over her method remains: Arya is a deft hand with needle, but it’s difficult to imagine her diminutive sword would come close to puncturing the dragon’s hide. After that he returns to join the Night’s Watch where, some hope, he is reunited with Very Good Boy Ghost.īit more offbeat, but it’s been mooted nonetheless: that Arya would take down Drogon in order to enable Jon better access to Dany. Tyrion, it’s rumoured, will convince Jon that he and his family are unsafe while Daenerys is still alive, and in the wake of her killing spree in episode five, her formerly loyal subject / nephew, is given no option but to kill her. But that doesn’t mean that Jon “ Aegon Targaryen” Snow’s claim to the throne doesn’t threaten that of Daenerys, whom, as The Bells showed, will happily murder people to sit on that chair made of swords. Although the leakers have a had a pretty good hit rate so far, there's still much confusion about how the series will end. Perhaps the biggest surprise is quite how underwhelmed we all are: the deaths have been feeble, the writing worse and neither villain turned out to be as scary as we hoped.īut still, the imaginations of fans have become only more feverish with disappointment, which means that seeing which crazy theories crop up on Reddit has become far more entertaining than season eight itself.
